General Purpose Trailers

  The Wessex Range of unbraked trailers is generally recognised as amongst the strongest and most durable in the market place.

  The design is based on our Industrial/Commercial range which incorporates folded and profiled steel sides which are fully welded to create, in effect, a monocoque chassis. This is then subjected to a hot-dipped galvanising process for extended life. The UBGT and ATV 2200 are non-braked with a maximum gross weight of 750KG. (Subject to vehicle manufacturers recommended non-braked towing limit).

 

  Both Trailers are designed for a variety of uses. Additionally the ATV can be towed on and off road for agricultural and commercial use by an all terrain vehicle.

  Overall both these robust trailers represent a practical and cost effective solution to the movement of materials and equipment.

 

 

 

Van Trailers - VT Series

  The Wessex WVT Series of Van Trailers are designed, and manufactured for professional use.

  These light yet robust and durable trailers offer a versatile covered transporter for vulnerable and valuable loads. Easy loading is enhanced by a choice of conventional roller shutter door, barn doors or a ramp tailgate, which is especially useful for loading small vehicles & trolleys. Gas strut assistance means shutting the ramps childs-play.

  The main chassis is fully welded and hot-dip galvanised. The design of the alloy frame together with 9mm GRP white panels (ideal for displaying corporate identity) ensures strength without excess weight. The combination of Avonride full beam "Softride suspension" axles and Bradley cast coupling, GRP Aerodynamic front and low centre of gravity helps the WVT series lead the field for safe towing & stability, whether laden or unladen.

  Single axle versions of the WVT series are available as 8' long x 4' & 5' wide and are particularly suited to minibuses where the long overhang exaggerates drawbar vertical movement. The Wessex twin axle van trailers offer greater payloads and come in 5 sizes.

 

Plant/Digger Trailers

  The Wessex DT Series of Plant/Digger Trailers is designed, engineered and manufactured for professional use. These robust and durable trailers offer a versatile option for transporting a variety of plant and equipment safely. Constructed of the finest quality components and fixings these trailers have a proven record of long lasting reliability and are generally recognised as amongst the strongest in the market place.

  The chassis design incorporates either folded and profiled 2.5mm steel sides or 4mm folded sides on the DT20 and DT35, together with box section cross members and folded drawbar which are fully welded to create in effect a monocoque chassis. This is then subjected to a hot dipped galvanising process for extended life.

  The Bradley cast coupling, Avonride Softride suspension system and chassis design combine for safe towing and stability either laden or unladen. The Wessex Plant/Digger trailers are extremely popular and practical, with a range from 2000KG to 3500KG gross, together with a variety of optional extras.

 

Platform trailers - PL series

  The Wessex PL Series of Platform Trailers are designed and manufactured for professional use. These robust and durable trailers offer a versatile option for transporting varied goods and equipment especially when customised with options such as Ramps, Mesh Sides, Ladder Rack etc.

  The Wessex PL series is available in sizes ranging from 8'4" x 5' up to 16' x 6'6", with gross weight capacities of 2000Kg, 2600Kg and 3500Kg. Larger sizes can be built to special order.

 

 

Rigid Body Livestock Trailers

  Wessex Livestock trailers are all designed to comply with the Welfare of Animals (Transport) order 1997, for humane movement of livestock, but also go beyond this to achieve trailers that tow exceptionally well and have inherent longevity. The range starts with the compact, single axle WLT840, 8' long by 4' wide. A gross weight of 1300Kg, with intelligent use of aluminium in the manufacture, gives a payload of 920Kg and a trailer that tows safely behind a family saloon.

  The rigid bodied twin axle Wessex livestock trailers are available 8' and 10' long by 5' wide, or 10' and 12' long by 5'8" wide. With the wheels on the outside, the deck height is minimised for easier loading, but the centre of gravity is also lower for greater stability. The floor is constructed of treated timber, 32mm thick, overlaid with Alloy treadplate. The sides & front are of smooth 2.0mm aluminium sheet attached to rigid hoops. The roof is galvanised steel, with a protective plastic coating.

 

Demountable Livestock Trailers

  Available in 12' and 14' the Wessex 'Demountable' trailers are popular, where a dual purpose vehicle is required: Release the bolts along the edge of the stock body and it can then be lifted off by forklift or hoists, in a matter of minutes, releasing a 6"6" wide, 3500Kg gross flatbed trailer c/w alloy treadplate floor. Normal platform trailer options such as ramps & stowage, headboard or wheelstop, ladder-rack etc can then be added to suit user needs.

 

 

Tipper Trailers

  The TP Series Tipper Trailers are ideal for transporting loose or bulky materials. The 12 volt electro-hydraulic tipping system lifts the body to an angle of 52 degrees to discharge of even the most stubborn loads.

  Profiled aluminium alloy drop-sides combine exceptional strength and durability with low weight to increase the payload. The wheels are underneath the body allowing allowing easy access to loads - especially useful when loading and unloading with fork truck.
