  We are appointed Class 4 M.O.T testers offering facilities to owners of cars, vans, motorcycles and 3 wheeled vehicles. Most tests are generally by appointment although we are very flexible and can usually offer tests on a call-in basis. Our future expansion plans include a Class 7 M.O.T bay allowing us to offer tests to an ever greater customer base.

 

Some tips to prepare for your MOT test:

 

Starting inside the vehicle, check:

• The functionality of ALL dashboard display and warning lights.
• No lateral movement in the steering rack.
• No excessive movement in the seat mountings.
• The mechanical integrity of all seatbelts.
• Condition of the control pedals.
• Condition of the door mirrors.
• Wiper / washer functionality.
• Any serious aberrations within the wiper area of the windscreen.

Outside the vehicle, check for:

• Wiper blade splits, rough or torn edges.
• Any jagged or torn sections of bodywork or trim, which could be injurious to pedestrians.
• Number plate condition and conformity.
• Legal conformity of all exterior illuminations.
• The condition of ALL tyres.

Under the bonnet, check:

• Battery straps and / or clamps.
• Coolant reservoir.
• Brake fluid reservoir.
• Power steering fluid reservoir.
• Engine oil level.

 

   Changing oil, oil filter and air filter helps considerably on both petrol and diesel engine vehicles before having your MOT test with respect to the vehicle emissions test.
